At the invitation of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, 2024 Stockton High School graduate Claire Plumer of Stockton was selected to attend the 41st Annual Governor Scholars Awards Program on May 5, 2024, in Topeka.

VFW Post 8873 will be hosting a Community Potluck Lunch on Memorial Day, May 27. The Monday event, which is open to the entire community, will run from 11:00 a.m.

Treasurer Denise Murchie met with the Rooks County Commissioners at the start of their meeting on Tuesday, April 30th. The commissioners signed the designation of depository periods with Solutions North Bank, as Murchie presented. They also signed the Rooks County Regional Airport and the 9-1-1 small fund vouchers.

May 3 was the night to be in Plainville for the Red Line Cruisers 8th Annual Cruise Night. Many onlookers started early and stayed late, listening to Classic rock and roll music provided by Bob and Sue Schonthaler and enjoying all the food vendors.

The 129th Graduating Class of Stockton High School will receive their diplomas this Saturday, May 11th, at 2:00 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

The Stockton USD 271 Board of Education announced on Monday, May 6th, that Dr. Angela McCollum has accepted the position of superintendent of schools and high school principal for the school district.
